Aubry

This charismatic house is located at the heart of Père Lachaise, an old Parisian suburb famous for its handicrafts. We have purposely elevated the structure of this house to embrace the adjoining pattern.
On the north side, we installed a glass wall (known as baie atelier) to link back to the building’s origin . On the south side, through a set of terraces, gardens, roof and green wall, the project integrates and merges with the adjoining park.
We conceptualised this project to pay tribute to the site history and surroundings. Inside, the light and functions organize the spaces. A light staircase allows communication and connection between levels. This project was a challenge taken up with simplicity.

Filles du Calvaire

Years ago, this room used to be a watchmaker then it became a stringed instrument maker. The driver of this project was to highlight the memory and history of the place.

Each trace discovered had to be shown as so many relics of the past.

This is why the choice fell on the use of raw artisanal materials guided by a close partnership with a local locksmith at each stage of the project.

Amilly

This house is composed of simple boxed volumes that define spaces and functions. The L-shaped layout was chosen to optimize the sun orientations and protect against the prevailing winds that are known to the area. The various bays open vertically and horizontally making it possible to frame the surrounding landscapes. The house is made of different construction materials: the basement is in single-wall brick masonry with an insulating/exterior cladding complex, and the floor is in a wooden frame. The link between the two levels is materialized through the use of zinc.
